All The First Cards of '03 Football Draftees Unveiled!
LAKE ELSINORE, CA (March 26, 2003) -- The football draft is exactly one month away, but several top draft prospects have already hit the big time with sports card collectors.
Today the fourth and final wave of original and exclusive SAGE First Cards was unveiled and includes the first fully licensed trading cards of Arizona State DE Terrell Suggs, Washington State QB Jason Gesser, Tennessee stars TE Jason Witten & WR Kelley Washington, and Miami superstars QB Ken Dorsey, and RB Willis McGahee.
Previous weeks of exclusive SAGE First Cards were unveiled and includes the first fully licensed trading cards of Michigan State WR Charles Rogers, Virginia Tech RB Lee Suggs, USC RB Justin Fargas, Georgia RB Musa Smith, Iowa QB Brad Banks, Iowa State QB Seneca Wallace, California QB Kyle Boller, Stanford WR Teyo Johnson, Colorado RB Chris Brown, Notre Dame WR Arnaz Battle, Kansas State CB Terence Newman, Louisville QB Dave Ragone, Texas QB Chris Simms, Texas Tech QB Kliff Kingsbury, Penn State's superstar RB Larry Johnson and WR Bryant Johnson, and Florida's standout QB Rex Grossman and WR Taylor Jacobs.
SA•GE Collectibles issued six new exclusive SAGE First Cards each week during March, totaling 24 First Cards of top prospects in the April 26-27 football draft. Cards will only be available for sale before the draft. Any remaining inventory will be destroyed at that time, and final quantities will be published on this website by May 1. Each of the special SAGE First Cards are only available during that time period. They will not be inserted into the very popular HIT and SAGE Autographed brands which ship in early April and early May respectively.

The high-quality, limited-edition First Cards are available for direct purchase on the Internet at www.beckett.com, as well as from leading collectible retailers and via the collectibles marketplace at www.ebay.com (search for SAGE First Card). All of the four-color cards picture the player in his collegiate uniform, and are licensed by the player and the Collegiate Licensing Company.
"We've conducted extensive research to ensure that the 24 SA•GE First Cards will feature many of the breakout players from the 2003 college draft,'' Geideman said. "If you're not familiar with a player today, you will be very soon.''
The first Yao Ming Game-Used Jersey Cards in packs!
Following SA•GE Collectibles, Inc.'s unique policy to never include redemption cards in any product, the fifth year of SAGE Autographed Basketball contains the first game-used jersey cards of #1 overall pick, Yao Ming, inside of packs. Each of the Ming jersey cards is sequentially #'d to a maximum of 99, as are game-used jersey cards of Jay Williams, Drew Gooden, Kareem Rush, and more. The mid-August release of SAGE Autographed Basketball features one sequentially numbered autographed or jersey card per pack of the top 2002-03 rookies, and two short-printed rookie cards numbered 1 of 2,900. All autographed cards are #'d to a maximum of 550. Jersey cards are inserted at frequently at the rate of 1:30 packs.
SAGE Autographed Basketball 2002 also features exclusive basketball/football rookie combination jersey cards. Only ten cards will be produced featuring jersey swatches from both 2002 #1 overall picks David Carr & Yao Ming, plus U. of Oregon temmates Joey Harrington & Freddie Jones, and collegiate players of the year Eric Crouch & Jay Williams. Other rare jersey combination cards are also inserted, including Ming/Kwame Brown, & Williams/Battier to name just a couple.
Less than 300 sold-out cases were produced which is great news to collectors fortunate and fast enough to have found it. That limited quantity also enhances their odds of finding a pack containing any of these rare treasures.
SA•GE gave away the first Yao Ming Jersey Cards!
SA•GE Collectibles, Inc. is proud to announce that the sold-out HIT 2002 Basketball, contained the first authentic autographs and trading cards of international sensation and #1 overall pick Yao Ming. Not only that, but HIT 2002 Basketball was the first product to ever feature cards of the top 2002-03 rookies. Plus HIT contained the most authentic autographs in its price range - an average of 6 per box - and the best insertion rate of jersey cards in its category (1:40 packs) including game used jersey cards of Jay Williams, Drew Gooden and more.
SA•GE even went a step further by giving away the first Yao Ming Jersey Cards! To be eligible to receive the first Ming jersey card collectors must have sent in one UPC from the bottom of one hobby box of HIT 2002 Basketball (item #40030) or two UPCs from the bottom of two retail HIT 2002 Basketball boxes (item # 40035) along with a 3"x 5" card legibly containing their complete name, mailing address, and phone number. The first 400 valid submissions were honored, and the complimentary jersey cards were shipped immediately after the jersey is provided to SA•GE.
SA•GE Collectibles, Inc. entered into an agreement with the #1 overall pick to provide authentic autographs and a jersey. SA•GE believed that the Ming jersey would be provided at the same time as the autographs. However, when the autographs were returned from a private signing session in China, the jersey was not included. Due to the complications of the jersey being half way around the world at the time HIT 2002 Basketball was to be released SA•GE will not be able to insert Ming jersey cards directly into packs of HIT 2002 Basketball. This news did not alter the best 2002-03 basketball jersey insertion rate which remained at 1:40 packs. SA•GE's policy is to not issue redemption cards. Keeping with this policy and still providing Yao Ming jersey cards created this bonus opportunity to reward collectors.
SAGE Autographed Football 2002, the year's first super premium football product, has shipped. Not only does SAGE Autographed Football contain one sequentially #'d authentic autographed or jersey card per pack, but features them both in SAGE's first ever autographed/jersey cards. Ten different players are featured, and each is numbered to only 10. Another rare prize are four jersey combination cards, also numbered to 10, including the last two #1 overall picks David Carr & Michael Vick and the top two '02 QBs Carr & Joey Harrington. As always every card is inserted directly into packs. There are no redemptions!

Basketball Rookies Authentic Jerseys & Autographs Galore
SA-GE Collectibles, Inc. is excited to announce that the first trading cards, autographs and authentic jersey cards of the top 2001 basketball rookies will be featured in its upcoming HIT and SAGE brands. HIT 2001 Basketball, scheduled to ship in late-August, contains an average of six autographs per box, one autograph or sequentially #'d insert per pack and features authentic jersey cards #'d to 175 at an average of 1:55 packs (one in just over two, 24-pack boxes).
SA-GE Collectibles' mainstay autograph-per-pack SAGE Autographed brand features a radical new change in 2001 basketball. Due to the high demand for authentic jersey cards SAGE Autographed is becoming SAGE Autograph & Jersey Cards, scheduled for a mid-September release, with the most frequent insertion of jersey cards the hobby has ever seen. Every box of SAGE Autograph & Jersey Cards will feature 8 (red colored) packs of SAGE Autographed with one sequentially #'d autographed card per pack, and 4 (gold colored) packs of SAGE Jersey Cards containing one sequentially #'d Authentic Jersey card from a top player. Both packs will also feature two short-printed rookie cards #'d 1 of 3,200.
